If you have been doing some research on anti-ageing treatments in Gurugram, you have most probably come across these three names: Botox, dermal fillers, and thread lift. All three treatments are non-surgical; all three provide visible results — yet they work very differently, address different issues, and are suitable for different skin types and ages.
That is not surprising since most clinics include all three in their “anti-ageing” category, making it seem as though they are interchangeable.
Reality check – They are not.
Through this blog, we will walk you down the basics of each of these treatments truthfully — how it works, who it is suitable for, the expected results, and when to choose any of them.
What is It that You Really Want to Solve?
Before picking a procedure, it is worth figuring out the root cause of the issue. Aging occurs in three separate levels:
- Movement of muscles leads to expression lines such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.
- Volume depletion leads to hollow areas such as hollow cheeks, under-eye hollows, and thin lips.
- Loosening of the skin and tissues leads to sagging such as jowls, drooping eyebrows, and loose neck.
This way, the procedure works for only one of the above-mentioned levels. This is why the most appropriate choice totally depends on what your face truly needs and not the most advanced treatment in the market
Thread Lift: When Your Skin Sags and Needs Definition
How is it done?
For the thread lift procedure, very thin, dissolvable sutures (threads) are used to lift and realign sagging tissues underneath the skin surface. The sutures are made up of PDO (polydioxanone), the same material that is used in making surgical stitches
The threads solve two purposes: first, they cause mechanical lifting, and second, they regulate production of collagen in the surrounding tissues. As the threads gradually dissolve, the new collagen helps maintain much of the lift.
Thread Lift is Most Suitable For
- Mild to moderate facial sagging
- Drooping brows
- Loose neck skin
- Laxity of nasolabial folds
What do the results look like?
An instantly visible lift, but it takes approximately 4–8 weeks for the final result to be evident as collagen production happens. The face appears more contoured and lifted. It is commonly referred to as looking “like you, but younger and lifted.”
How long do the results last?
The results of Mechanical lift persist for approximately 12 to 18 months. The stimulation of the collagen prolongs the effects even further. Most patients usually opt for thread lifts combined with other skin treatments such as skin boosters and Profhilo fillers.
What thread lifts can’t accomplish?
Thread lifts alone are not appropriate in cases, where the skin is severely loosened. It is important to note that Thread Lift procedure does not provide any volume to the skin– hence, in the event that hollowness is there along with sagging skin , thread lift needs to be supplemented with fillers.

BotulinumToxin (Botox): For Wrinkles Formed Due to Muscle Movement
Mechanism of Botox:
Botox involves using purified variation of botulinum toxin in order to relax the desired facial muscles. In the process of injecting into the targeted sites, the muscle contraction is partially inhibited and hence the appearance of the wrinkles caused by this contraction is eliminated.
Duration of procedure: 15–20 minutes.
When to expect results: 3–5 days; peaking around 2 weeks.
The Botox procedure is suitable for:
- Frown lines between the brows
- Crow’s feet around the eyes area
- Bunny wrinkles on the nose
- Smokers’ wrinkles around the lips
- Platysmal bands
- Forehead wrinkles
What results look like
The skin becomes visibly smoother in areas of repeated movement. Expression lines fade significantly. The face looks refreshed — not frozen, when done well.
For how long do the results sustain?
The final results are visible for a time duration of 3 to 6 months. Consistent Maintenance is required. With time, most people experience a longer duration due to the weakening of the treated muscles.
Where Botox doesn’t function?
- Botox does not add any volume to the treated area.
- The procedure does not tighten up the loose skin.
- Botox has no effect on the static wrinkles present even without moving the facial muscles
- The procedure has no effect on hollowness caused by loss of excess fat.
Fillers: for Deep Wrinkles & Volume
How does the procedure work?
Dermal fillers are gelatinous substances – usually hyaluronic acid (HA) – that are administered into the skin to restore volume, correct deep wrinkles, and sculpt the face. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the skin and absorbs water, it keeps the skin tissues pumped and adequately moisturized
Various types of filler materials are prepared depending upon the area of the face. Soft and gel-like fillers are preferred for under-eye and lip areas, while dense fillers are required for cheeks, jawline and chin region.
Here at Shreem Aesthetics , we have an extensive array of anti-ageing procedures which are specific to your facial structure.
Most effective for:
- Volume loss in the cheeks
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Under-eye hollowness (tear troughs)
- Enhancement of the lips
- Jawline contour
- Chin projection
- Hollowing of the temples
What kind of results to expect:
Instant volumization happens. The face becomes fuller and looks comparatively younger. Sunken areas become rejuvenated. Wrinkles caused due to volume loss are smoothed out naturally. The effects can be seen right away, and the final results come within 1–2 weeks.
How durable are the results?
The duration of Hyaluronic acid fillers typically last about 9 to 18 months, depending on the filler itself, the area injected, and an individual’s metabolic rate. Fillers in dynamic areas (lips) wear out quicker than fillers in structural areas (cheeks).
Functions that HA fillers cannot perform?
Fillers cannot relax muscles or tighten loose skin. Too much use of fillers in order to “fix” loose skin makes a face look heavy and unnatural. This is a frequent mistake when the correct treatment was thread lifting or lifting.
Comparison At A Glance:
| Factors | Thread Lift | Botox | Dermal Filllers |
| Treatment purpose | Lifts tissue | Relaxes muscles | Restores volume |
| Most apt for | Sagging, loss of definition | Expression lines | Hollowness, deep folds |
| Durability of results | 12–18 months | 3–6 months | 9–18 months |
What’s the Right Treatment for You?
You are in your late twenties to early thirties:
If there are signs of expression lines developing, but no volume loss yet., the choice here would typically be Botox; at this age, it’s best to begin preventive treatments, which can delay further development of wrinkles considerably. There are also people of this age group who need skin boosters or Profhilo.
You are in your mid-30s to late 40s:
Loss of volume starts to become apparent along with the formation of expression lines. A combination of Botox and fillers is the most sought after treatment. Botox deals with the dynamic lines; fillers restore the lost volume and contour.
You are in your late 40s to 60 years:
Sagging and skin laxity become an important factor at this age group. The treatment of choice in this case would be a thread lift which may include volume enhancement using fillers and expression lines with Botox.
Botox and Fillers and Thread Lift — Can They All Be Combined?
Indeed — and often the combination will yield better results than any treatment alone.
